The Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism Mr.Tshekedi Khama together with the Minister of Transport and Communications Mr. Tshenolo Mabeo, launched the Save Botswana's Vultures commemorative stamps on the 14th of December 2016.

A first of its kind, this commemorative issue was issued to advocate towards conservation of endangered bird species in Botswana. Vultures which do not hunt live prey, feed on carcases of dead animals, which in turn prevents pollution and spread of deadly diseases. Not only do these stamps serve as a means for conveying messages towards precious species conservation, they also service as a tourist attraction tool. Speaking at the event, Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism , Tshekedi Khama said the collaboration of the two ministries could help in the promotion of the tourism sector. "It is through BotswanaPost's efforts like its philately programme that we will be able to brand and communicate our unique and rich heritage, our diverse bio-environment to the outer world."
